3. Check out the payment procedure of the program so that you know when you will be paid. Many programs pay affiliate monthly but some pay quarterly.

4. Ask any questions if you have. You may want to know the conversion rate of the product; how long the program has started. You can get your answers by emailing the seller.

Don’t set up your affiliate marketing business quickly. Learn everything you need to know first. With so much talk about search engines putting a damper on direct reciprocal links, the hunt for the elusive one-way inbound link is on.

As someone who works with small business website owners, I’ve heard just about every inbound-linking scheme there is. In the end, I’ve only seen five strategies that really work consistently for getting hundreds of links.

Less Effective One-Way Link Strategies

Yet there’s perennial interest in alternative linking strategies. They range from bad to OK, but none offer as much potential as the five major ways of getting links.

* Link farms never seem to die. The latest variations try to pass themselves off as viral marketing, but are really a sort of endless pyramid scheme: you link to me, so I link to someone else, who links to someone else, and on and on down the line. Link farms can get you delisted from search engine indexes, so don’t even try them.

* Affiliates can provide you with one-way inbound links if you use affiliate software that links directly to your site rather than through a redirect. But many, many affiliates are now placing all their affiliate links in redirects of their own invention, to help protect their commissions from pirates who will simply apply to the program themselves to get a discount.

* Posting to web forums and blogs regularly will get you one-way inbound links, but they’ll only have search-engine value a small percentage of the time. Many blogs and bulletin boards use search-engine-unfriendly dynamic file formats, automatically encase links in script, or use robot instructions to prevent spiders from following links.

* Many one-way inbound linking strategies fall into the great-if-you-are-lucky-enough-to-get-it category, such as winning a web award or being featured on a high-PageRank website just for being so great.

* Other one-way incoming link strategies are in the this-will-take-forever-to-get-anywhere category, such as offering to provide testimonials to all your vendors in exchange for a link to your site. WASHINGTON - Google’s effort to raise antitrust concerns about Microsoft’s $42 billion bid for Yahoo has several flaws, analysts said.

For starters, regulators pay more attention to the views of customers and consumers than to those of competitors when reviewing consolidation, antitrust attorneys said. On its specific arguments against the acquisition, Google also may not have made the strongest case possible, these attorneys said.

The biggest hurdle when one rival complains about another is that “the regulators suspect the deal might be good for competition,” Stephen Houck, a former antitrust enforcer in New York state, said Monday.

“Google has to tread very carefully, lest it have a negative impact,” said Houck, who is counsel for a group of states, led by California, that pushed to extend court oversight of Microsoft’s landmark 2002 antitrust settlement. A judge recently extended that oversight until November 2009.

Google’s top lawyer, David Drummond, said in an online posting on Sunday that Microsoft’s proposed acquisition of Yahoo would give the combined company “an overwhelming share of instant messaging and Web e-mail accounts.”

While this may be true, experts said it’s unlikely that antitrust regulators would consider a product like Web-based e-mail a separate market with little competition.

Similar to an escrow service, PayPal acts as the middleman holder of money. Through its policies, practices, and business integrity, PayPal has earned the trust of both parties. With multiple guarantees in place, buyers and sellers entrust PayPal with their credit card and bank information. PayPal keeps that private customer information secret. Then, while “blinded” from the other party’s confidential information, strangers safely send money to each other through PayPal and email.

PayPal Requirements

You need no special technology nor a business license to send/receive money through Paypal. The only requirements are:

a valid email address.
a valid credit card or bank account.

“How does PayPal make money?”
Answer: as a middleman financial broker, PayPal makes its profit by charging a percentage of the money it transfers for you.

PayPal is Free for Buyers. Once a buyer sets up a Paypal account, then it costs nothing to send money to other PayPal users. The funds are withdrawn from the user’s credit card or bank account, or both. PayPal does not charge buyers to send money.

PayPal Charges Sellers 1.9% to 2.9%. PayPal will only charge you to receive funds. Using a special surcharge formula, PayPal will bill you whenever you receive a payment from a buyer.
